Polhem Infra makes first investment in Finland – Acquires Minority Stake in Pori Energia Following City Council Approval

Polhem Infra KB is pleased to announce the City of Pori has approved the sale of a 49% minority stake in the energy company Pori Energia Oy to Polhem Infra. The City of Pori will remain as a majority owner with 51%. The transaction was approved today by the Pori City Council, marking a significant step in securing the sustainable growth and development of the energy company.

The minority stake in Pori Energia is the first Finnish addition to Polhem Infra’s investment portfolio and a great fit for the company’s strategy to invest in sustainable Nordic infrastructure for the long term.

The acquisition underscores Polhem Infra’s commitment to fostering long-term partnerships with municipalities, governments, investors and communities to develop assets that provide essential services. Polhem Infra is dedicated to supporting Pori Energia in its mission to provide sustainable and reliable energy solutions to the community.

The company’s production is currently over 90 % carbon dioxide-free, and the goal is for production to be carbon negative by 2035. The group turnover in 2023 was 135.5 million euros.
